The contact owns a 1993 Honda Accord. While driving 60 mph, the engine stalled in the middle of the highway. The dealer advised the contact to bring the vehicle in for repair. He has not yet taken the vehicle to the dealer. A different mechanic diagnosed the cause of failure as the igniter. The current mileage is 99,000 and failure mileage was 80,000. Was driving vehicle when oil warning light came on. Stopped & checked vehicle & noticed nothing amiss. Drove vehicle home & checked again after putting oil in engine. Noticed oil leaking out because seal had popped off. Took vehicle to repair shop & mechanic knew what the problem was. Had the seal replaced & a retaining clip placed on it. Engine and engine cooling
I had called premier Honda in albuquerque, new mexico and asked one of their parts and service department. The gentleman to whom I spoke to stated that a recall had not been made as of yet. He also stated that he had worked on several Honda accords "1993" with the same problems. He advised me to save any receipts for future reference. Engine and engine cooling
