In owners' own words
I was driving down highway and saw a wall of cars and brake lights in the distance, so naturally my foot tried to push the brakes. The pedal was hard, and I panicked because my tahoe was not stopping at all! I continued to stomp on brake pedal all the way until my car actually hit 3 vehicles and then the guardrail! My brakes did not work , because if they did then I would have easily prevented this accident!! Service brakes
After vehicle has been parked, when put in reverse trying to back out of a parking space the brakes do not activate and barely can get the vehicle stopped. . It has happened multiple times. Feel like I can't get the vehicle stopped even pressing or pumping the beakes!! It's a matter of time before I hit something. Very scary! When I shift it into drive to go forward they work just fine. When driving at slow speeds, particularly to park, the brakes did not work. You can put the pedal to the floor and the vehicle keeps going. This only occurs when at a slower speed, in both drive and reverse. I have taken it to a mechanic and the vacuum pump has to be replaced. This is very dangerous and could have caused an accident, as I almost hit another car because I couldn't stop. Service brakes · reported at 62,500 miles
