In owners' own words
The steering wheel reel assembly makes a click sound which is an in dictation of inadequate lubrication. The assembly itself can not be relubricated as the entire assembly is sealed. Honda would need to replace the entire pasty the incorporates the assembly. However, technicians are stating that this is unneeded and normal part of the car. This is in actuality, untrue and can be ultimately dangerous for the driver. Steering · reported at 2,400 miles
Steering get sticky and jerky after driving for 15-20 minutes. The steering wheel seems to get stuck for a second and then trying to slightly correct, jerks the vehicle around in the lane. It feels like there are notches in the steering. This is a safety issue because you could overcorrect and get jerked into another lane of traffic. No warning lamps. The issues started just under 50,000 miles. Steering
While turning the steering wheel, I experience a sticky, resistant feeling that makes it difficult to steer smoothly. The wheel does not turn freely and produces a creaking noise during turns. This occurs regularly and affects my ability to control the vehicle safely. Issue is consistent with known EPS (Electric Power Steering) gearbox problems reported by other 2019 Honda Civic owners Steering
