Vehicle is experiencing a "hard brake pedal condition" where excessive force has to be applied to brake pedal in order to activate brake system. Also, abs light on the instrument panel is illuminated. Dealership has examined vehicle but could not reproduce the problem. Dt: the contact stated recall 96v099000 repairs was done on the abs brakes in 2004. However, he wa shaving a failure. The abs light illuminated on the dashboard. Upon inspection by the service dealership the abs controller failed. He has been in contact with the manufacturer. They claimed the part in question was not covered by the recall. Vehicle is in involved under recall 96v099 (abs system). Intermittently, when the brakes are applied the pedal becomes hard, resulting in extended stopping distance.
