In owners' own words
While traveling on highway, vehicle started slowing down. Consumer was able to pull over to shoulder and oil or antifreeze was leaking from underneath the vehicle. *Ak the vehicle has been in for repair three times for a failed gasket. The engine won't heat up properly due to the thermostat being stuck in the open position. New oxygen sensors had to be installed due to being contaminated from the coolant. Engine and engine cooling
This vehicle has a salvaged title, and last march Ford sent me the information on the extended warranty for the head gasket problems. They then rescended the extended warranty saying that the vehicle has a salvaged title. Do I have a claim against them? Then, just this month I found out that the head now has a crack in it, thus another major repair. I would appreciate any help on this matter. Thanks. Rich rohde. Engine and engine cooling
The transmission was failing to shift and would hesitate. We also heard a clunking noise. Fearing that the transmission's hesitation could cause us to be in an accident, we took the Windstar into the dealer's service department. The service department said that the noise was coming from the engine and that both the transmission and the engine would need to be rebuilt or replaced at an estimated cost of $4000 -$5000.
