The contact owns a 2003 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that he heard an abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle and the hub was shaking violently. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 08e064000 (suspension). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. I noticed noise in the front end of my 2003 Dodge Durango and found that I had movement in my upper right ball joint, so I pointed this out during my annual safety inspection at the dealer. Both upper ball joints were found to be worn out during the inspection. The truck has only 28,000 miles on it and is driven a mix of highway and local driving....No off road use. Recall 04v596000, consumer has a 2 wheel drive Durango. This vehicle experiences the same problem with ball joints as the 4 wheel drive. Consumer took vehicle to dealer several times regarding the ball joint problem.
