In owners' own words

The rear lights are filling with water. This will eventually cause short or problem with lights and I feel is a safety issue. I will attempt to have dealer repair, but I am not sure what is causing this. I see other issues stating the racetrack light is filling with water. We have drained the water numerous times. I see this is an issued for 2014, 2015, 2016 years as well I am attaching similar complaints Exterior lighting · reported at 64,000 miles
The “race track light” on the rear hatch of the vehicle has allowed water to get in to the electrical LED components and has caused a portion of the light to fail. It seems to be a common failure and it creates a safety issue with visibility of the vehicle at night. In addition, the component to replace this light is very very expensive, with no hope that the new part will not fail in the same manner. Exterior lighting
