In owners' own words
Know issue by Nissan with 2013-17 Altima. I experienced Pedal throttle delay response with no engine acceleration. They have identified the issue in the vehicles , but will not fix. I just took my vehicle to the dealer today and they said that they could not find anything wrong. I found many online forums and Nissan documents outlining the issue just as I have experienced. My transmisson started shuddering then just quit pulling in the middle of the interstate which bout got me ran over, this was like the third time, there is countless cases of the same exact thing happening with the same car from 2014 to 2018 models due to cvt transmissons, someone needs to do sum homework and see this is gonna get somebody hurt. Nissan doesnt want to admit the issues and cover the issues. Power train · reported at 100,000 miles
While driving down the highway at 70 mph, the transmission went out, no warning lights nothing. Vehicle RPM starting spiking then down to zero, engine sounded like it was in neutral, and the gas pedal being pushed. Got off the road and car would not go in drive or reverse, just stopped, had to have towed in. Cost $5000 to repair. Have owned many Altimaâs and never a problem, this was awful. Power train
