In owners' own words
While driving the vehicle the vehicle stopped, and engine seized. I could not move the vehicle out of neutral nor restart the vehicle to get out of the road. It was towed to our local dealership's service department on 2/16/25 and has been there since. They are stating the vehicle needs a new engine and the engine is on backorder. OF COURSE! This seems to be an ongoing issue with the 6.2L V8 engine for GMC vehicles. Engine
On the interstate the truck said to press engine start and everythig was dead, I was almost hit several times trying to get it from the passing lane to the emergency lane. I towed it to my dealer who said the engine suffered catastrophic failure due to a recall on the 6.2 Engine. No warning lamps or any indicators were given. All service records are in order along with a recall inspection related to my issue. Engine
ECM - Engine System code P0700 and TCM - Transmission System code U0073. The truck went in to first gear and wouldn't go over 5 MPH on the highway. The dealer is saying it can't be replicated but it's happened multiple times to the vehicle in the past week. The truck was taken to the dealership and inspected but they claim nothing is wrong. The check engine light came on as well as the aforementioned codes. Engine
