In owners' own words
6.2 ecotec GM engine failed, it is available for inspection at the dealership. The engine failed while driving with no shoulder to pull over. According to the dealership the main crankshaft bearings failed causing catastrophic failure. The dealership has confirmed and reported to GM on 1/24/25. There was no warning to the failure. I was driving approximately 40mph and lost complete power with no warning whatsoever. Engine
Engine failed at 10,000 miles while driving down the road. No warnings, engine shut off while driving. I pulled over and contacted OnStar. They got me a tow truck to bring the truck back to the dealer the next day. I was told that I needed a new engine and they donât know when theyâre gonna get one in. It could be months. I had to pay for a Rent-A-Car out of my own pocket. The dealer would not cover the cost. Engine
I was driving on the highway and my truck went black and engine stopped no power to truck. It was very scary. I pulled over and it was in Neutral and somehow got it into park. The car never would turn over. The truck is at midway motors with metal shavings in the engines. They say it locked up and needs replaced. GM is very difficult to work with and wonât give us any information. Iâm scared of the truck. Engine
