In owners' own words
Transmission make erratic gear changes at highway speeds from 10th gear to 2nd gear just for a split second then back to 10th. no warning. Loss of gas pedal in passing lane to overtake a slower vehicle throttle does not respond you have to fall back try to get back in right lane until the computer decides to give you back control usually about 20 sec. Also pushes transmission fluid out of vent tube on transmission. Power train
The Ford 10R80 Transmission is extremely clunky, unsafe, and unreliable. Me, among tens of thousands of others have the exact same problems with them and Ford ignores and disregards them and the safety hazards they create. Your form does not allow for multiple instances or dates. This is/has been a consistent issue form the purchase of the vehicle, to the new transmission I now have to put into it under 100k miles. Vehicle would stall in between gears. Almost got hit in side. The transmission has shifted rough and hard shift. I took to dealer and the computer was reset at 55,000 miles. I just had to replace transmission at 77,000 miles. The repair cost was $8,059.00 before taxes. I was told 4th and 8th gear the cluthes were out. This seems to be a known problem because the replacement transmission has a different valve body. Power train
