In owners' own words
Experience HARSH Engagement with transmission both upshift and downshift. Some downshifts at so HARSH, feels like rear wheels are trying to âlock upâ. Ford dealer performed recall which did not correct the issues. Ford dealer recommended full transmission replacement. Seems this is a known issue and Ford has admitted fault by issuing a recall in an effort to âfixâ the problems with the 10 speed transmission. Power train
When putting vehicle in gear transmission makes a loud clunk when shifted from Park to Drive. Vehicle also makes loud banging noise when shifting, followed by a harsh jerk. When coming to slow stops does the same thing. Vehicle has 40,000 miles. It has been going on from the day I bought it. Was told this is normal which does not seem right. I have owned another 2018 F150 with 6 speed transmission and had no issues. Power train
Truck would downshift for no reason. This happened on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the Ford garage and was told there was a sensor that needed to be replaced. After servicing the vehicle the transmission was worse was told that it needs to self adjust. Now waiting to see if there are any further issues. Apparently this is a known issue with these vehicles but mine was not one that was recalled. Power train
